FAQ
What is the difference between a dohar and a quilt?
A dohar is a lightweight, breathable blanket made using three layers of fabric. The top and bottom layers are typically crafted from soft mulmul (muslin) cotton, while the inner layer is a thin sheet of flannel cotton. This composition makes dohars ideal for warmer weather, especially during summers or in mildly cool rooms. A double-size dohar usually weighs around 1.5–1.6 kg, making it easy to handle and perfect for everyday use.
A quilt, on the other hand, is thicker and more insulating. It is filled with a substantial layer of cotton (usually around 2 kg or more) and is hand-quilted to keep the filling evenly distributed. Quilts provide greater warmth and are better suited for mild winters or cooler environments, including air-conditioned settings where extra coziness is needed.
In short:
Choose a dohar for light comfort in warm or mildly cool conditions.
Choose a quilt when you need added warmth and insulation.
What is the fabric quality and thread count of bedsheets?
Our bedsheets are crafted from 100% pure premium cotton with a 350 thread count (TC), offering a perfect balance of softness, durability, and breathability. They feature a percale weave, which gives the fabric a smooth, matte finish and a crisp, cool feel- ideal for comfortable sleep, especially in warmer climates.
Percale cotton is known for its long-lasting quality and gets softer with every wash while maintaining its strength and structure.
What is the difference between a quilt and a bedcover?
A quilt is a soft, insulated comforter filled with cotton and is hand-quilted to keep the filling evenly distributed. It is designed primarily for warmth and comfort, making it ideal for mild winters or air-conditioned environments where you need a cozy, breathable layer.
A bedcover, on the other hand, is more structured and durable. It is machine-quilted with dense stitching, giving it a firmer feel and a more defined look. Bedcovers are designed for dual use- they work both as a lightweight comforter and as a decorative bedspread to enhance the overall look of your bed. The bedcovers also come with matching quilted pillow covers for a coordinated finish.
In short:
-
Choose a quilt for softness and warmth.
-
Choose a bedcover for a more structured, decorative, and multi-purpose option.
